Systea S.p.A. Announces the Appointment of Westco Scientific Instruments, Inc.,
as its Exclusive Distributor for the Americas

Rome, Italy (August 19, 2011) – Systea S.p.A., a global leader in automated chemistry instrumentation serving the environmental and industrial marketplace announces that it has appointed Westco Scientific Instruments, Inc., as its exclusive distributor. Westco Scientific will be responsible for sales and customer support throughout the American Continents. Systea has selected Westco Scientific to help expand its distribution capabilities, increase promotion of its products in the Americas, and to offer the highest level of customer support and service for its EasyChem line of Discrete Chemistry Analyzers, FloSys CFA line, and on-line water monitoring products. Westco Scientific has a dedicated staff with almost 25 years of experience in automated chemistry solutions and is well positioned to provide complete sales and technical support from the Connecticut headquarters, regional technical centers and from the manufacturing facility in Italy.

Systea is a major international player in the field of environmental analysis with their instrumentation used to test the quality of drinking water, waste water, surface water and sea water for contaminants and nutrient levels. These products are also used in the agricultural and food markets to test nutrients in soils, quality of animal feeds and for product labeling of nutrients in food products. Systea also offers a line of integrated on-line environmental monitors that are used in water treatment facilities.

AMS and Westco Scientific Instruments Announce
the Acquisition of Unity Scientific

Brookfield, Conn., (September 25, 2008) – AMS and Westco Scientific Instruments, global leaders in automated chemistry instrumentation serving the environmental and clinical marketplace, announce the acquisition of Unity Scientific, (Columbia, MD) specializing in near infrared analysis. Unity Scientific introduced the SpectraStar line of scanning monochromator NIR analyzers in 2001 providing unique QC solutions for products in the Food, Agriculture and Industrial markets. The company will offer immediate access to new markets and complement recent acquisitions made by AMS and Westco that include YDI Group Holdings, Alliance Instruments and Ysebeart. Doug Evans will continue as President of Unity Scientific and the entire staff will remain intact with a focus of growing and expanding the NIR business.
